3 Do’s

Zoe and I were snuggling on the couch tonight, discussing words. She really loves to talk about letters, words and numbers. We encourage that, naturally, so we spend a lot of time spelling things and adding things. Tonight, she wanted to know if there were any other words besides “NO” that have only two letters. I said, “Sure!” and then proceeded to start listing all that I could think of: in, on, an, of, up, at, am, to…

The power of the stylist

Women and their hair. It’s a complex, strange relationship that extends unreasonably beyond the self to include others. We talk about our hair to friends, sisters, mothers. Aunts, cousins, coworkers. And, of course, our stylists.

An exercise in snoozing

The alarm went off too early this morning. And despite my exercise clothes laid out neatly and going to bed early last night and all the best intentions in the world, I could not get up.

Milestone: First Haircut

We’ve been talking about getting Zozer’s hair cut on and off for months now. Sometimes she says she wants it cut, and then she’ll change her mind. Sometimes I say I want it cut, and then I’ll change my mind. M just sighs and goes with the flow. (He loves living with two women. Really, he does. Just ask him.)
