Business Trip

Back to Lenexa this past week. Not much to shoot while there, being trapped in meetings for two days straight and all. Had to make myself content with shooting travel images. Sometimes you just gotta take what you can.
1. Ceiling of East Terminal
2. My favorite pictogram ever. Mainly because I’ve been in this position before. More than once. Sigh.
3. Huge storm front rolled in as we prepared to depart. Awesome storm clouds, but the flight attendant nazi made me turn my phone off.
4. After a bumpy flight, sunny upon arrival in KC.
5. The rental car facility at MCI, while waiting in line behind a “Ummm, I dunno, I guess maybe I need a rental car? No, I don’t have a reservation. No, I don’t know what I want. No, I don’t know how long I’ll need it” traveler. Grrrrrr.

From the other day…

I’m falling behind in my blogging. Too busy Instagramming to FB and Twitter.
Must not forget my blogging roots.
Two exhausting days in Lenexa, crammed with meetings. Returning home tomorrow with about eight pages of to-do lists (I wish I were kidding) and a computer case stuffed full of poultry vaccine information.
But at least I shall be home!

Couldn’t you just use air freshener?!

Another reminder why I love my job. We just received a few of these in as samples.
I coulda used this product back when I was a kid and our aging golden retrievers would drop loaded fartbombs before struggling to their feet and lumbering slowly out of the danger zone.
Rest assured, my biggest question was answered right there on the label: yep, works on people farts, too.
And yes, you’re reading that correctly. It does indeed say, “From the makers of Poop Freeze.”
What’s not to love about the animal health industry?

In keeping with today’s theme…

I’m editing a scientific white paper for my company this afternoon.  It was first written in French, and then very poorly translated to English.  It concerns a study done on poultry (broiler chickens to be precise) to determine vaccination efficacy.  I get to do this all the time…I know, I know, ya’all are so jealous of my insanely cool job.

Note to self

Stop booking the damn 6:45 a.m. flight to Kansas City. It’s not fun getting up at 3:30.
Quick trip…back Wednesday.
Not so much for M. He departed this morning for a 2-week APJ tour. (That’s Asia-Pacific-Japan in his world-traveler-business-unit lingo.) Specifically Seoul, South Korea and all over Australia.
Lenexa, KS vs S. Korea and Australia. Good thing I went to France a couple weeks ago or I’d be green with envy. Okay, so maybe I’m a little green anyway.

Piggies

I love my job.  Part of it includes sending out news releases to industry publications letting them know the great products and services my company offers.  Today, I’ve been given four new pubs to add to my media list:  Pig Progress, International Pig Topics, Pig 333, and American Association of Swine Veterinarians.

Sign here, here, here, here, here, here, and here

I have spent the last two hours of my evening filling out employment paperwork.  The company for which I’ve been contracting for the last year is finally pulling the trigger and making me an honest woman.  I’m becoming a regular ol’ employee with benefits and everything.  This is a good thing…a very good thing.
